Explore breakthroughs in point of care testing solutions and diagnostics.
Jupiter, FL—In an upcoming episode scheduled for the fall of 2020, Advancements with Ted Danson will focus on innovations in accelerated Point of Care Testing solutions (POCT). Check local listings for more info.
Today, the majority of testing is performed at centralized labs. Samples are collected at medical offices and are shipped to labs throughout the country. Results are then available several days later. Now, in an effort to enable quicker testing solutions without compromising accuracy, more people are looking to POCT solutions.
The Advancements series will explore this topic in an upcoming episode. Viewers will learn about advances taking place in molecular biology and electronic instrumentation, as it features Kaya17’s disruptive POTC technology. The show will explore how Kaya17 provides quick, accurate diagnostics result that help to lower costs and improve treatment.
“For over 35 years, PCR, the Polymerase Chain Reaction, which earned its inventor, Kary Mullis, the Nobel Prize in 1993, has been the backbone technology for virtually all molecular medical testing. Providing rapid, on the spot tests using a small instrument but with the same accuracy as PCR required an entirely novel technology. We are delighted to showcase our technology on the Advancements series,” said Dr. Sulatha Dwarakanath, CEO of Kaya17.
Unlike complex lab-on-chip type technologies, which require complex fabrication steps, Kaya17’s proprietary design brings 15-minute medical diagnostics solutions to doctors’ offices around the country.
“As test move from centralized laboratories to the doctor’s office, Kaya17’s Point of Care Testing represents the next disruptive trend in the medical industry,” said Richard Lubin, senior producer for the Advancements series. “With COVID-19 impacting our world, we look forward to bringing important technologies such as this to our viewers.”
