Discover how developments in technology are helping to turn waste into a resource.

Jupiter, FL—An upcoming segment of Advancements with Ted Danson will explore how progress in technology is helping to tackle pressing environmental and energy problems today.

With a look at the current state of global plastic pollution and its effects on the environment, viewers will discover how a chemical conversion process created by Aduro Clean Technologies (Aduro) is helping to transform plastic waste into valuable feedstocks.

Audiences will learn about Aduro Hydrochemolytic™ Technology (HCT), which activates the unique properties of water to convert lower-value products – like waste plastics or bitumen – and upcycles or upgrades them into more useful products. The series will explore how HCT provides versatility at relatively low temperatures and cost to increase the volume of plastic waste upcycling, while enabling further expansion towards applications that continue to challenge society today, such as renewable oils or waste rubber (end-of-life tires).

Viewers will discover how the technology overcomes limitations of traditional recycling, which can be selective and therefore capable of handling only a small fraction of all post-consumer plastic generated globally. Spectators will see how the unique technology enables Aduro to deconstruct difficult-to-recycle post-consumer plastic with the potential to handle higher volume mixed plastics into higher-value feedstock and platform chemicals.

“The Aduro Hydrochemolytic™ Technology addresses many of the challenges faced by traditional recycling technologies, thus expanding the amount of waste material that can be recycled for the benefit of society and our planet as we move towards a higher circular economy,” said Ofer Vicus, CEO, Aduro Clean Technologies. “We are excited to share our transformative chemical recycling solution.”

In addition, the show will explore how process simplicity, scalability, and configurability allows the technology to be implemented in diverse settings to reduce both the demand for petroleum and the environmental load of waste materials filling landfills and waterways.

“We look forward to exploring how technology is transforming post-consumer polymer waste into a resource for the circular economy in an effort to solve global plastic pollution,” said Ed Sullivan, senior producer for the Advancements series.
